Bolonia2008

I´ll traslate soon

Going to Bolonia has been an amazing experience; I went alone, which gave me many opportunities to observe people and think. As soon as I got to Bolonia, where I was staying the night, I met Jose, a very intelligent and friendly boy from Barcelona. He was there with his sister Ana, also very intellectual, a student, and lovely. They treated me as though we were distant cousins from Barcelona, although they now live in Munich. When I arrived I was rather lost, you could see it in my face, but they soon made me feel at home; they showed me the city making the stay much more fun than if I had been there alone.

For me the aim of the fair was to present my work, to enjoy the experience, to speak with other illustrators, talk to publishers, art directors, and make many contacts.

One of the things I knew about, but which is quite difficult to achieve, is to get a slot in which the publishers will actually attend to you. Indeed, it was a tricky situation, especially since there were publishers I didn’t even know about; so I would introduce myself, usually in English, and whoever wanted or could, would listen to me. I spoke to many people; I hope all my efforts will come to something.

As for me, I am still working on my project the illustrated album, which is nearly finished; here is one of the latest illustrations.
